FAQ

How SORA differs from trade-counter retailers that make customers phone for install pricing.

Why join SORA instead of chasing quote leads?

Most UK cooling sites still hide install behind a phone call. SORA publishes standard scope and labour bands upfront, customers see fixed pricing at checkout, pay before dispatch, and you receive a pre-paid job sheet. You invoice labour; we never ask you to discount to win a callback race.

What is the standard install scope?

Single indoor unit up to 3.5 kW, up to 3 m refrigerant pipe, wall bracket, condensate drain, ground or first floor, exterior wall, existing 13 A socket, vacuum, pressure test, commissioning, F-Gas certificate to the homeowner. Supplements (extra pipe, trunking, pump, dedicated circuit, scaffolding) are priced before acceptance, never sprung on you on site.

Do I supply the unit?

No. The customer buys the split from SORA. You install customer-supplied equipment and invoice SORA for agreed labour and materials per job sheet.

Does SORA sell installation to customers?

No. SORA is supply-only, customers buy the unit and arrange their own certified fitter. This panel is for inbound F-Gas engineers who want customer-supplied install work when we refer jobs in future. There is no customer checkout path for SORA-arranged install.

What coverage do you need?

Launch region: London & South East postcode prefixes (SW, SE, CR, KT, BR, DA, RM, IG, EN, HA, UB, TW, and adjacent, see panel spec). Equipment-only orders ship UK-wide today. Inbound install referrals to panel engineers may expand region-by-region as density triggers, customers never buy install from SORA at checkout.

How fast do you review applications?

Weekly batch review. We verify REFCOM (or equivalent) credentials and public liability insurance, no cold outreach, no application fee. You will receive email when approved, waitlisted, or if we need certificate clarification.

What does the ~10 s owner check actually mean?

At dispatch, ops confirms your company certificate on the public REFCOM register, the same lookup you already expect. Routine jobs are not held for phone tag; only mismatches or expired credentials trigger contact.

Apply

Submit once, we review inbound applications only. No fee, no cold calls. You must already hold a valid F-Gas company certificate; we do not register you with REFCOM.
